The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center - New Orleans
was designed to capitalize on the spiraling pace of the exposition market in
the Crescent City, and in doing so, bolster the booming local
tourism/hospitality industry. Its conceptual development began in 1978 when
the New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority, the governing body of the
proposed convention center, was formed to bring about construction of the
facility.
Since
opening in 1985, the Morial Convention Center has captured a sizable share
of the convention market nationwide with its operations impacting every
segment of the local hospitality/tourism market – including hotel bookings,
dining, transportation, shopping, entertainment, local tours and cruises.

ACCESSIBILITY
The
Morial Center provides Services ramps to entrances and elevated
areas, an array of passenger elevators, restroom facilities for the
disabled, braille instructions/directions at strategic locations
throughout the building and a full complement of pay phones located
at each level of the facility with (TDD) hearing-impaired functions.
Wheelchairs also are available upon request.

easily accessible from all entrances of the convention center.

SERVICES
The Morial Convention Center staff has earned an international
reputation for personalized and professional service. In addition,
the Center offers significant advantages including state-of-the-art
in-house audio/video technical services, innovative video
advertising, wireless phone rentals and fiber optic system capable
of transmitting the most sophisticated data, video and voice phone
signals anywhere in the world at the speed of light.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
The culinary crown of the convention industry was claimed by the
Morial Center long ago. Providing a level of service and attention
to detail that keeps customers coming back is a hallmark of the
Morial Center. Perhaps one of its most enticing attributes is its
sublime food service, offered through the Center's exclusive food
service contractor,
ARAMARK, Inc. In a city where anything less than fabulous food
is unacceptable, ARAMARK offers a wide range of culinary options
that has satisfied even the most discerning customers. ARAMARK has
proven its ability to cover the spectrum of dining options and
tastes from the
attractive lobby Atrium restaurant/lounge to the breathtakingly
elegant Ma Maison for exclusive gourmet dining.
SECURITY
Events are required to provide for the public safety of all
individuals involved in the event and to provide security for all
materials brought into the Morial Center. See Section 9 of the
Facility Use Agreement-Rules and Regulations for specific details
for the security required.
CLEANING
The Morial Center will be responsible for the general cleaning of
all restrooms, meeting rooms, general session areas, food and
beverage areas and all lobby and meeting level public areas. The
registration areas, show offices, any surface carpeted by an event
and all other occupied areas must be cleaned and maintained by the
event. For each exhibit hall rented, the Morial Center will provide
one complimentary compactor or open top roll-off dumpster pull for
solid waste disposal. Additional pulls are billable to the event at
the rate outlined on the Labor and Equipment Rate Schedule. See
section 2 of the Facility Use Agreement-Rules and
Regulations for further details.

ADVERTISING & MARKETING
All
advertising or exhibitor promotions in the public areas of the Morial Center
must have prior written approval from the facility. Any such paid promotions
are commissionable to the Morial Center at 15 percent of gross and sales
revenue. Video systems carrying advertising or paid exhibitor promotion in
these areas are provided by the Morial Center.
VIDEO MARKETING
The use of video monitors is available
to display your log and event schedule outside the meeting rooms and
in the main area.

4,000 trade show attendees. Your boss calls from the West Coast with some
last minute, crucial information that must be included. You need email
Services, the right computer program and a fax machine, quick! That's where
the MORIAL BUSINESS CENTER by RHINO comes in, with onsite Services for all
your business needs. Located in Lobby F, the business center is both a
self-service and
full-service operation, depending on the customer's needs. Remote business
centers can be set up at event registration areas. Hours are tailored to
meet the needs of convention managers and attendees. A wide range of
supplies and services including shipping, high volume copying, faxing, badge

INTERNET SERVICES
The Morial
Convention Center is the exclusive supplier of Internet connectivity for all
events within the facility. We are equipped with a DS3 (45mbps) dedicated
Internet connection to a national provider, and can provide Internet and
networking connectivity to any area of the facility. Our connections require
nothing more than your properly configured computer and a standard ethernet
network card to connect you to the internet. As a full-service provider, we
supply all cabling, networking equipment and support necessary to insure
reliable Internet connections.
Standard Internet
Services will connect you to the Internet via our shared-Services
Ethernet network. This network is highly segmented and subnetted to
insure low bandwidth utilization and is superior to modem, ISDN, and
shared T-1 connections.
Dedicated Internet
Services will provide you with a secure and exclusive Ethernet
network back to the gateway router, insuring that the only network
traffic on your connection will be your own. It is superior to
dedicated T-1 connections, providing over 6.5 times the bandwidth of
dedicated T-1 connections.
